German climber David Goettler, together with his French companions Boris Langenstein and Tiphaine Duperier summited Nanga Parbat (8,126 m) via the Schell route of Rupal Face two days ago on 26 June 2025, becoming one of the few climbers to scale the world’s ninth-highest peak by its most challenging side.

They have already arrived back at Base Camp. Sources at Rupal Expeditions confirmed.

Attempting the fast and light alpine style climb, all three scaled the mountain without using supplementary oxygen.
