Polish climber Bartek Ziemski has successfully skied down Mt Everest (8848.86 m) today, 19 May 2026, completing another major Himalayan achievement just one week after his successful ascent and ski descent of Mt Lhotse (8516 m).
Bartek has safely returned to Everest Base Camp, completing the full descent. The expedition also marked his 9th eight-thousander climbed without the use of supplementary oxygen and without personal Sherpa support.
His ski mountaineering portfolio now includes Annapurna I, Kangchenjunga, Dhaulagiri, Makalu, Manaslu, Gasherbrum I, Broad Peak, Lhotse, and Everest, all achieved in lightweight style without bottled oxygen.
