After the summit route opened on the world’s 9^th highest mountain yesterday, some climbers were able to top out the mountain this morning as well.

Brownlee and Gelje on 5^th eight-thousander this year

British Adriana Brownlee (21), who wants to become the youngest to complete all 14  eight-thousanders, has added another feather in her cap summiting Nanga Parbat today, it’s her 8^th eight-thousander thus far and 5^th this year, she was accompanied by Nepali mountaineer Gelje Sherpa. Besides Brownlee and Gelje, Nepali mountaineer Sanu Sherpa also scaled the mountain accompanying Japanese Naoko Watanabe, Sanu is aiming to climb Gasherbrum II (8035 m) this season and wants to complete his mission to climb all 14 eight-thousanders twice, a feat no one has achieved so far.
